KANDER & EBB at the KINGS HEAD THEATRE


We are planning a two-nighter at the Kings’ Head in Upper Street, Islington in Spring 2001. The Kings’ Head, a well known pub theatre and fringe venue, hires itself out to amateurs on Sunday and Monday evenings. We believe that the venue is ideally suited to a minimalist revue show, in line with our new policy of keeping costs to a minimum where possible.

The music of Kander & Ebb - composers of such hit shows as ‘Chicago’, ‘Cabaret’, ‘The Rink’, ‘Kiss of the Spiderwoman’ and many more - is showcased in their revue musical ‘And The World Goes Round’. Featuring the showstoppers All that Jazz, New York, New York, Cabaret, the title track itself and many other wonderful songs, this is a fabulous show. There is a listed cast of six, three men and three women, but we would like to give as many members as possible the chance to get involved and so will split up the numbers accordingly.

A get together is planned for later this year in the staff restaurant, Ground Floor, Goodmans Fields, Alie Street, to be followed by auditions, hopefully before the end of the year or early 2001.
