Matt is 27 and has been involved with all aspects of marketing and amateur dramatics for a number of years and so is the ideal chap to help improve the marketing for your amdram group. After successfully completing a Business Studies and Marketing degree in June 2001 at the University of Derby, Matt undertook various marketing roles, including working for a higher/further education college in Nottingham, an educational equipment distributor in Leicestershire, and an international mobile phone telecommunications company in Sheffield.
Within all his marketing roles, Matt has constantly dealt with Press Releases, Media Communications, Promotions, Adverts, Printing, Event Organisation & External Communications, running successful campaigns to increase attendance levels and consumer awareness.
Alongside, all Matt's marketing work he also co-founded and Chairman of an amateur dramatics group "Blue Balloon Production Company" in Castle Donington, Derby. Since its establishment the amateur group has successfully done over 50 performances including both singing shows as well as pantomimes.
During his time with Blue Balloon, Matt has been heavily involved with all aspects of production from creating and developing shows, to writing some extremely successful productions.
His script writing has not gone un-noticed with Blue Balloon winning three awards within the Pantomime Alliance of Leicestershire including “Best Original Script” in 2004 for Matt’s ‘Aladdin’ Script.
Since it’s establishment Blue Balloon has also managed to gain a good reputation for quality productions and performances, but it has also managed to be financially strong and managing to make donations of over £5000 to local and regional charities.
Recently Blue Balloon Production Company is having an extended break, mostly due to personal health reasons within the group. However, the group continues having an impact on the local community as Matt now sits on the committee for the Pantomime Alliance of Leicestershire Awards as well as Blue Balloon Sponsoring the ‘Pantomime of the Year’ Award. Matt is also currently busy with script-writing projects and also working for one of the UK’s most successful and professional Murder Mystery Companies “Skulduggery” acting in venues across the UK on a regular basis.
Matt wants to help anyone and everyone by sharing his experience and knowledge, and believes that by working together we can help bring amateur dramatics to a wider audience and increase the success of all our groups!
