ROMILEY LITTLE THEATRE

Romiley Little Theatre (RLT) was formed in 1946, so are working up to our 60th anniversary next year. We have charity status and about 50 adult members, with a further 15 or so in the juniors section. We are based in Romiley, just outside Stockport, in Greater Manchester

Our society performs 3 productions a year; a crowd pleaser in May, one for the kids in January and a more ambitious production to challenge the players (October). We even do the odd musical. RLT are also regulars at Fleetwood, Greater Manchester Drama Federation (GMDF) and Partington Festivals, amongst others.

This season has already seen "The Rise and Fall of Little Voice" and "Peter Pan" (who literally flew - not bad for a small amateur society!). And coming up 12th - 14th May is "A Little Local Difficulty" - a new version of Gogol's satire transformed into a Northern Comedy.

RLT also have an active social calendar; with cabaret, cuisine, quizzes, disco's and themed evenings, outings, walks and even a car rally. You name it, we do it!

Our home is the newly re-built Romiley Cricket Club pavilion, where rehearsals and most social events are held. Since the early 1990's our main productions have been at Hyde Festival Theatre, and prior to that Romiley
Forum.

Whatever your interest; acting, directing, stage lighting, sound, set building, wardrobe, bar management, publicity etc., Romiley Little Theatre is always ready to welcome new members. As a small friendly society, there is always the opportunity to try your hand at any aspect of putting on a production. No experience of the theatre is required, just the interest and enthusiasm to get involved in what can be an enjoyable and rewarding hobby.

Have a look at our web site or email us. Tickets available by email or 0870 9220634

We also have a mailing list, which provides supporters with a handful of updates a year of our progress and production information. The data is kept strictly confidential and not passed to any other groups. If you would like to be added on, contact Sue Howard.
