RAVENSBOURNE LIGHT OPERATIC SOCIETY

Ravensbourne Light Operatic Society was founded almost 50 years ago, and we usually stage two productions a year. These are mainly at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley, Kent, where our recent successes include “42nd Street”, “West Side Story”, “Me And My Girl”, “South Pacific” and “Crazy For You”. We also use more intimate venues when that suits the production, for example in our last show, “Hot Mikado”, where we wanted more of a club atmosphere.

The Churchill has a huge stage suited to large scale productions, and we’re very lucky to be able to mount big, spectacular shows with large casts. The budgets are correspondingly large too - £45,000 to £50,000 per show – so we need to be as professional as we can on the business side as well.

We’re always looking for new performers and back-stage helpers, especially now we’re starting work on “Jesus Christ Superstar”, be staged at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley, in January 2004.

We are a hard-working but very friendly group, and we do all we can to make newcomers as welcome as possible. Everybody in the show is “one of us” from day one! For further details on call Paul on 020 8325 9878 or Bob on 01689 838177, or e-mail.

The picture shows some of our “Hot Mikado” company hard at work.
