The South London Theatre web site, managed by Anton Krause, provides a real depth of entertaining content, designed to attract repeat visits to the site from society members and from outsiders. Building loyalty to the web site builds loyalty to the theatre.

Content worth reading

» The SLT site includes thoughtful pieces about forthcoming productions (and of course these get archived as past productions)

Frequent Changes of Content

» Frequent changes to the front page mean that there always seems to be something new going on

» Theatrical quotations, called from a library by Java Script, so the site can say something different on every visit

Interactivity

» Sometimes, this is just for fun - like the Shakespearian Insult Generator - sometimes it's getting real input from visitors (to improve the group or the web site)

» A lively discussion board. It takes a big society to carry this off well, with a core of members who have such demanding jobs that they occasionally need a break to relieve their stress by insulting their friends in a public place. SLT delivers this with some panache, with a discussion board that has the feeling of a real community. Discussions ramble from G&S to S&M. Occasionally, they even have insightful things to say about theatre (pay them a visit and find the thread on "The Art of Directing").
