What IS an Avatar? I mean, I know it's a piccie but why is it called an Avatar? It's just that it's the first time I've ever come across that term...

Hi Maureen

My dictionary gives the following definition:

1 Chiefly Hinduism a manifestation of a deity or released soul in bodily form on earth

2 Computing a moveable icon representing a person in cyberspace or virtual reality graphics

Origin from Sanskrit avatara 'descent'.

Doesn't help much does it wink.gif
