Check out the internet theatre bookshop link listed further down the main page. I just put the title in there and it came up.

Laura hi. I don't think you can get performing rights for Charlie and the chocolate factory. All rights are held by the Dahl estate and they are very strict about it. However between you and me, my son directed a potted version for a schools project in London. he just adapted it from the book. His friend wrote original music and I designed the set. It was very good. Be careful though I think if you took money for people to see it you would be in bad trouble.

The Dramatic Publishing Company, P.O. Box 129, Woodstock Illinois, 60098 USA has a script called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (a children's play) by Richard R. George, adapted from the fantasy by Roald Dahl. It is very good!

Hi, I have just produced and directed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the Fourville Players in Norfolk.
The only script available is an adapted play by Richard E George. There are no songs but I added some from the show which worked well if you need any more info you can e-mail me on em_28677_c@hotmail.com.
I can give you all the details and info on who to contact for performing rights etc.
Good Luck

There was an excellent musical version performed by Redroofs Theatre School in Maidenhead. They're in the phonebook, the headmistress is terrifying but she'll help

Music Theatre International is presently working on developing the musical: not available for THREE YEARS according to my rep!
