Hello
I am looking to put on a re-written Politically Correct Panto this Christmas, as they are very entertaining. I'm hoping to do Sleeping Beauty, but primarily I need a text source to work from - can anyone give me any guidelines/sources?

Thanks

Do you mean a source for Sleeping Beauty per se? Ladybird books will give you the essentials. Or almost any book of fairy tales. Project Gutenberg has lots of out of copyright books.

No, I mean a PC text - I have seen some fairy tales re-written this way, so may adapt one of those, but was asking if anyone knew of a PC version already written, to save me re-inventing the wheel...

Ah, you mean "snow white and the seven persons of restricted growth" - that kind of thing? I'd just type "politically correct fairy tales" into google and see what you get. Mind you, you'll need to be very careful about plagiarism/copyright. Failing that, read the Daily Mail for a week and wait for someone to fulminate against the latest PC atrocity (for which you can usually read read "leftie-bashing badly-reported sloppy journalistic exaggeration").

There is definitely a book of politically correct fairy tales. Not sure where my copy is.

Try the version in 'Fill my Stocking', a Christmas Anthology written by Alan Titchmarsh. Yes, that's the one.
BBC Books ISBN 0 563 48862 X.

Thanks Burb and mrsostrich. I have ordered a copy of P C Fairy Tales, and will see if anything can be dramatized...
