Thought I'd share this with the forum.
I am directing 'Allo 'Allo the stage play for local group Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy this coming September and we start rehearsals shortly.
Last weekend we had a great promotional opportunity when a number of the original TV cast came down to a Film / TV fair event in Milton Keynes centre.
A number of the cast (including me) donned costumes (we have already bought a near complete set of costumes / props from another amdram group through these forums) and we met with the TV cast and had some pictures taken, while giving out leaflets to the crowds. You can see pictures on the MKTOC site on the next show page.
We are going to use these images with a series of forthcoming press releases and features about the cast 'getting into character' (it helps having a friendly and supportive arts editor the local paper) and in a couple of adverts taken out in other local show programmes.
It was also nice to get some comments to quote from the original cast - Richard Gibson (Herr Flick) ordered 'the peasants of MK to buy tickets for this show or they would be shot' and Arthur Bostrom (the Policeman, Crabtree, with the atrocious accent) wished us 'good lick with our shoe!'. Our Rene was just delighted to get a snog from Vicky Michelle (Yvette)!
The official photoshoot for posters / programme and other promo pictures is being held this weekend.
Cheers
Steve
