In this show the witch loses her powers part way through. What I'd really like is a wand that shows visible signs of working (flash, puff of smoke?) so that it is clear when it doesn't. In the DVD she also breaks it in half in a temper.

Any ideas?

What about using a piece of clear plastic rod (15mm dia x 200mm long) attached to the end of an LED based torch? Rub the rod with sandpaper to make the light escape on the way up. You might also file facets into the end of the rod to make the light disperse in beams.

Oooh - fibre optics - what a good idea! Safer than pyros too! If I could find something really cheap, she could actually jump up and down on it ! ! !

I got a few ideas...

Let me mull them over while doing your CDs....

And if that gobby one is doing then breaking,
perhaps on the last night someone can break it over her *wink*

She may be gobby, but she's cute! laugh.gif I do hope your ears have been burning with the number of people who have raved about your pics!

Only the ones of you... *wink*

Oppps.. She's moderated me... wink.gif

I've seen this done (photos on my site) where the witch
had a rather raggy looking branch which had been cut in half
and a pipe drilled into it to "fix" it together...

She then had a "fire lighter" thing which shot small flame things
into the air...

Really all you need is a Ganfald staff type thing
which can be broken (half sawn through) for
each night... Loads of stick in the woods for that...

If you try and get things "lit up" and that it's only
going to cause hassle in the end..

Keep it simple..

Get a magicians fire throwing thing, to use as the
wand's power...

I've looked at both of those - anyone know how safe and easy they might be to use?

As I am officially a wuss, I've ordered one of these to look at too Wuss's wand

Well I've seen them used in several productions and no one died....

Also that wand.... Under the lights you'll never see it flash.. The lighting
will be quite strong...
mrsostrich
I bow to your expertise George. I've heard you say before, it's no use flashing if nobody can see! unsure.gif
