Hi!
Actually this is quite a serious message but I guessed that people would see number of replies and think oh must check that and hey presto, my request for help has been noticed... (sly eh)
Recently received some info about one man show in Sheffield from the performer himself. He's not resgistered with amdram yet but I told him all about amdram!
His show is next week. His person on the door/box office at the theatre has had to drop out. Bit of a problem really.
Can anyone here help or know or anyone who can help him.
The dates are 7th and 8th March. If you want more info, please email me. I am not working anymore so I try to check my email when I get time after the kids are in bed or when they are getting a "Shrek" fix. Half term at mo so have more chances of getting my amdram fix.
ps has the thread about Keeping men/keeping new members interested died down as we got a new youg lady last week and she wanted to take a script home so I said she'd have to come back (and of course she was ill last night but has promised me she's coming next week now)
I have a feeling she is interested though. Can't pinpoint it but maybe she is a stayer.
Right that's my post for the day, boosts the total a bit.

Sorry there are spelling typos on my message. Please don't quote the "youg" girls back to me!
Oh look, another post.

Sneaky posting Lou!
I had someone email me about being interested in joining our society and I sent her back everything she could possibly need to know. She then emailed me to say she was interested and would come "soon". Still waiting.... Not really sure why people do this? But I don't believe in chasing people. If they want to come, they will. And again, if they want to stay they will no matter what.

Yeah, this is the House of Common(ers). Go back to the House of Lords (of the Amdram Web Ring) where they never talk any dross whatsoever

Oh my .... Lord. I mean it was just a message. How touchy are some people. Ooh er! Anyway it got an immediate audience and that's what I wanted. I'm assuming that nobody can help out this chap. Oh well, I'm going to fine a forum where I'm appreciated. Sniff.
thanks for your reply Maureen.

Oh fantastic! The irony of it. Kenny has managed to annoy LouiseT because she posted a 'serious' message amongst the dross. Surely it's a plant.
Come back LouiseT, Zorros gone back to his lair.
Now Kenny, stop picking on the young ones, play nicely now!

Has he gone. I'll come back then. I think most of my message was dross anyway, the stuff about Shrek and all that. We have to wait for ages for Shrek 2 to come out. It doesn't get to the cinema until June 2004. Now that is a message suited to Dross board. Hmm yes us young ones need more encouragement. IS 31 young?? If you think so I'm not going to argue. Now I will come back and check this later as I do have pressing matters to deal with today. A Mountain of ironing (excuse the pun)

Shrek 2, June 2004 that's heartbreaking!
Unfortunately, for me anyway, 31 is indeed young.

I'd do it if it was nearer, Louise, but I can't make it to Sheffield I'm afraid.

Oh another Shrek fan! What a SOOPER film THAT was!
My "can't wait" event at the moment is the new Harry Potter book.... sorry... I know....
Ryano
Feb 27 2003, 03:36 PM
Me too. We've got 2 books on order as neither of us wants to wait for the other to finish. Although Mrs Ryano will probably get through it in a couple of days!

I can't wait for Shrek 2 or Harry Potter, though I've figured that as I've waited this long a little bit longer isn't going to hurt.
Louise, I would help you out if I can figure out how to get to Sheffield and you could offer me somewhere to stay overnight as I doubt it is too near here. I'm in Chelmsford BTW, My geography is appsolutly appaling, so it's not suprising I'm confused.

Hi it's me, I'm in a good mood, I won't bite anyone today. Honest. It's great of people to want to help out. I don't even know the bloke but he is desperate for help and publicity. It's a long way to come for something you know little about. Anyway on to DROSS. Must keep on topic. How long is the next Harry Potter? There won't be any fights of it in this household.
Anyone seen the most recent version of The Railway Children with Jenny Agutter as the mum? I watched it last week, it still gets you in the sentimental bits. I think I preferred the Dinah Sheridan version but I think Gregor Fisher was good as Perks.
Right, my break time over. Can you believe it is Friday already. Half term really has flown by.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix (thats number 5, for the non fans) comes out on June 21st (I think) oh its either June or July and it's the 20-something
Maureen
Mar 2 2003, 08:43 PM
Lou - not yet seen Shrek 100 times but now Ian has bought it on DVD could soon be there!
Haven't seen the 2nd Harry Potter film yet although I liked the first. Just too busy to have got around to it if the truth be known. But will NOT miss the new book! Still have to place my advance order with my local bookshop (support your local bookshop!!!!) but will certainly do it.

Seen Shrek about 123.3 times....
GREAT movie for trying out accents, not the main characters their... The one liners from all the background characters are great...
Not really got into Harry.... *shrug* sue me....

Mar 3 2003, 12:49 PM
I agree with George. Harry Potter is ok, but reasonably average kids books. Not a huge amount of depth or sub-plot - but they have a great marketing team!
Shrek, on the other hand, is fantastic. I think I've watched it the same number of times as George has! Looking forward to Shrek 2, although I'm anticipating the sequel being a bit of a let-down as these things often are.

I agree, I don't think Shrek 2 will be as good, I also haven't seen it as often as you lot, saw it yesterday though.
Also I tend to be a fairly big HP fan, though I'm not as obcessive as some people,

Shrek 2. As you have so long to wait, you may be interested to know that new characters will be voice by, amongst others, Antonio Banderas and Jennifer Saunders.

Ah, being a good boy and doing some work, then?
We had good news. Opened the box office and sold loads of seats straight away. This "seating round tables" lark is good, cos everyone buys a table at a time! I'll do this again.
Ryano
Mar 3 2003, 06:04 PM
The plans for the seating and staging look pretty exciting, can't wait.
Actually, I've got a big favour to ask you but I'll email you.

Shrek 2 will also feature John Cleese and Julie Andrews.
I am glad you like it. I have to watch it most days as my two year old is hooked!
Still I have switched it this week for "The Rescuers Down Under" It was made in 1990 and features John Candy as Wilbur the albatross. I checked my film guide about it. Lots of action.
okay that's enough for me.
bye all

I've obviously missed out here. I've never seen Shrek. Didn't know it had a sequel.
I've seen both HPs. Quite good.
I think that Monsters Inc is fabulous. I saw the beginning of it about six times before I finally saw it all. Since then I've made a point of sitting down!

In the cinema!
Went to see Minority Report with Mrs Eeyore back last November (such is our social life!!)
Saw the Wild Thornberrys with the girls at half term (I actually quite enjoyed it)
Other than that the only other one was Armageddon what we taped off the telly a while back...

My family saw the wild thornberrys for my sisters birthday, they said it was quite good. I didn't think the telly series was bad, except for the terrible aninmation.
I saw Armageddon then aswell, must say it made me cry, even if it was for Liv Tyler (sorry really don't like her)

Unfortunately it seems terrible animation is the norm these days. Even Disney use cr*p artists...unless of course that IS the art.

I saw this - but it got a bit complicated for me (I'm only a blonde) and it probably wasn't helped by my falling asleep in the middle and missing ten minutes...
