I notice that quite a few people have tried to do things such as underline or make text bold without much success.

There are of course sever other features that you may want to use such as inserting an email link: simon@amdram.co.uk

Apologies to anyone that already knows how to to this but if you don't then please read on:

Above the area where you can type text there are several options that you will be familiar with from other applications on your computer such as the "B" for Bold etc.

If you want to write your text in bold then you press the B button and then type the text you want to be BOLD. When you have finished typing what you want to type in bold then there is an option "Close Current Tag" when you press this you will notice that you are now back to normal.

You can mix things together so you can have bold and then bold italic or just go back to bold.

HOWEVER! There is a little downside to this and that is that it is difficult to write something and then format it later, you must format things as you go along.

I note that most people have not had any problems with hyperlinks, they are fairly easy to do if you use the "http://" button.

I will leave you to have a little play with these features.

Please remember to use these facilities with care and thought!

If you have any questions that I may... be able to answer then please reply! rolleyes.gif

If I could just add to Simon's helpful notes. While it is difficult to write something and format it later using the toolbar, with a bit of practice you can format your text by manually typing the formatting codes around the text you want.

If you experiment pressing the toolbar buttons you'll soon find that the formatting codes are quite intuitive and easily memorable. For example, bold simply starts with a B inside square brackets, and ends with /B inside square brackets.

It is important to make sure that you do close the tags properly as the board seems to ignore the tags often if you don't.

Just don't go overboard biggrin.gif

Quite Right Kenny,

Theres lots of features you can use and manipulate but be sure to ensure that your article is still legible!

Be sure to consider different groups that may use the site such as those with colour blindness and sight difficulties etc etc..........
