Hands up who knows what SSI is and who doesn't.
For those that do, is it helpful to you (sell it baby)?
For those that don't, have you heard of it, know what it is but decided you don't want to (or can't) use it, or would you like someone here to explain how it can save you time?

Kenny, I don't know what it is and up to now, never knew I needed it. However, I'm always willing to learn new things so fire away.

YES!!!
I KNOW!!!! SIR SIR SIR!!! ME! ME !ME!ME!ME!
I use them all the time on my site... The "Advert" section in gray at the top right is a include... Also the Header Menu and the Footed...
I can make one change, one upload and there's a new advert for shows...
Dead easy...
Basically...
You're telling the Server to "include" the file inside the file (page) you are calling.
Great for headers, and stuff which you want to go on all pages but only want to type out once.. The Main HTML pages though have to be SHTML not just HTML for this to work.

Its basically making your site more dynamic but I think most people will not find it helps them in any great way.
SSI in my opinion is designed more for ASP pages and is more useful in an ASP page. You are alowing down the generation of your page because it takes longer for the server to parse and assemble the pages.
I know full well that it has its advantages but I find the use of stylesheets (for quick text changes etc) coupled with Dreamwevaer templates a lot easier.
I think either way is just as effective!
One thing to remember though is that if you plan to use SSI on your site then your file extensions will change to something like .shtml which could mean that say for example Google has recently cached your site then none of your links would be correct!
Either way SSI is a good option as long as you are going to use it to your advantage!
