okdky, its ten to six and i havent been to bed, and my brain has therefore turned to the consistency of yoghurt. So, for those of you with nothing better to do over christmas:
Need a programme for a musicals review. Small cast, probably 3 blokes (1 typical musical lead style voice, 1 character singer and one excellent poppy voice) girl wise probably about 4 (1 belt/character style (me) 1 very linder eder style, 1 very light, and 1 strong character/belt) then about 8 really strong kids. maybe another few additions, but thats probably my main singers.
Tiny venue, most of us can dance. piano accomp only. Am needing a theme, history of musical theatre, something old something new, etc etc etc. And song suggestions.
Would like to include some Wicked, maybe some avenue Q, and some traditional stuff for balance . . .(maybe some king and i as thats our next show?)
first person to come up with a viable suggestion wins . . . i dunno. i'll think of something.
answers on a postcard . . .

Bitter Sweet, the Noel Coward story.... (Review)
Actually a good script if you got the characters, only needs
one piano (but a good one).
Loads of ranges of types of songs. Scope for dancing...
When do I collect my prize?

Wizards and Witches or The Magic of Theatre?
Wizard of Oz stuff (tinman, scarecrow, lion, dorothy stuff)
leading into Wicked (of course)
And the kids can do The Wiz
Then stuff from Witches of Eastwick - particularly if you have a Darryl.
Or perhaps something like The Fantasy and The Reality. First half is all "real" stuff - y'know, people suffering - eg Oliver, Movie in My Mind from Miss Saigon etc. Then the cheery fantasy stuff (as above) in second half
But I am taking rather a lot of painkilling medication at the moment so this is probably all garbage....
Happy Christmas pj!

Probably because I'm a United States American (and so may fall into the category of Americans who according to my friend, Rod, shamefully don't know that there is a world beyond these shores) I only know of the movie "Witches of Eastwick" -- is there a play as well? Educate me, please.
Merry Christmas!

There is indeed, Wasnt hugely successful in London, and has just been released for the amateur circuit over here. Unforutnately they've made the flying sequences a condition of the license, putting it well out of budget for all but a very few groups (think i saw about ?60,ooo as a cost for rigging/flying/striking)
