Locate yourself on here...

http://uk2.multimap.com/

And put a link to the URL on your website.

No copyright issues then.

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/

That has annoying popups... Don't use them..

As Pamela suggested, you could do a search on Multimap and then put a link on your site to the search result. Alternatively, if your local area has a website of it's own there may be a map there that you can use on your site (with their permission of course). This is what I did on my site.

Why not draw a simple sketch map in addition to links to Multimap or Streetmap.

It has the advantage of people not having to leave your site to see it.

I'm no artist, but was able to cobble together this sketch map for Guild Players website.

Nice map, Dave what did you use to draw it. Software or hardware (pencil).

Worked out layout and dimensions on paper first (HB pencil, BIC biro, 30cm plastic ruler, and A4 plain paper!), and then drew map on computer using Paint Shop Pro.

Someone more artistic would probably create a prettier map, but it does contain all the important info (in a simplified form) to enable people to locate our venue.

Incredibly I've been using streetmap for years and didn't know it had popups as my browser blocks them. I actually find the interface far better than multimap which I only rarely use.

On behalf of those of us who relate more strongly to words than to pictures, can I suggest that you also put in written instructions alongside the map?

Good Idea Hillary. That might also have the advantage of attracting potential cast who can actually read. biggrin.gif

Tongue in cheek and runs for cover. wink.gif
