we are putting this on in November and need Italian renaissance costumes, circa 1490. We need them in shades of Burgundy and shades of green. Some of the lads are quite slight, ie 32 chest or so. Can anyone help with hiring or have some to sell us. we also need a supply of tights for the men Thanks
Do the tights have to be period? When we did 'Merry Wives', I just went down to M&S and bought some black 60 Denier.

Not sure where you're based, frockaholic, but drop a line to wardrobe@southlondontheatre.co.uk - we've got quite a lot of period stuff and might be able to help ...
Funnily enough, our own Romeo & Juliet opens next week, but from what I can tell they're all in leather and various shades of black.

We did a panto (Robin Hood) requiring men to wear opaque tights in various colours (one was green obviously!). I had the devil's own job to find some colours - until I went on ebay. Bought loads of tights - brand new and still in the packaging - for a few quid.

We hired ours in red and green from Haslemere Wardrobe but then had loads of stuff in all sorts of colours.
Don't know if you are still looking for costumes for "Romeo & Juliet" but West Yorkshire Playhouse hire out and have a vast choice according to their publicity. Link is [http://wyplayhouse.com/content/generic_floats/costume_hire.asp Will probably be in touch with you regarding the "Blithe Spirit" costume you were kind enough to contact me about.
