Hi, I have a need for a dozen pewter tankards for an inn scene.
If anyone could help out , even with a single tankard, we'd be most grateful!

The show is Frankenstein the Panto, to be staged at the end of February.
The group is Kennet Amateur Theatrical Society of Thatcham, Berkshire.

If you're able to help plsease drop me a line, or contact KATS via www.kats.org.uk.

Ta!

Rob.

Rob,

Looks like a trip to the local is in order here!

Your local pub is the best place to get hold of this, many of them still stock these either for ornamental purposes or general use! rolleyes.gif

We're probably too far away but if one of your team could get down to South London, we seem to have stacks of tankards (not sure why!).... Happy to lend these out if you can't get them any closer to you.

Cheap and easy to make cardboard ones would fool the audience, esp in a panto...
Make a tube. Slightly tighter at the top. False bottom. Handle if required but I think you could get away with no handles.

The inside of a Corn Flakes packet is the right colour. Use a black marker pen to add rivets and a rim.

Easy...

Unless of course you're planning to have REAL liquid in them.... ohhh no no no...

Again I have plenty but may be too far away............ CHESHIRE!

Papier mache works well - and they last for ages. We have dozens too (use them all the time on stage). And they don't make a noise if you drop them.

The best thing to do is to contact your local Operatic Society who will almost invariably have loads, as they use them in sooooooo many operettas. Or your local professional theatre who tend to acquire things like that.

Now that's an idea....

I GOT AN IDEA!!!! I'm starting a NEW thread!!!!
