An Evening with John Godber

Fans of John Godber comedies have a rare opportunity to hear him recall his upbringing in Upton, near Pontefract, and his time teaching drama prior to joining the Hull Truck Theatre Company as artistic director in 1984. As an extra date to their concert season, Ackworth Concert Society has arranged the special Evening with John Godber at Featherstone Library & Community Centre on Saturday, November 18 (7.30pm). The former miner’s son has written, adapted and directed almost 50 plays including Teechers, Bouncers, and Up ‘n’ Under the latter being made into a film.
